Brit Awards 2010 -And The Winners Are....

Congratulations to all the winners at last night's Brit awards.  We were eagerly watching while scoffing down pancakes - almost too much excitement for a Tuesday night!

I was particularly made up that a well deserved Florence And The Machine won the Mastercard British Album Award for the brilliant 'Lungs'. I love Florence and, to be honest, thought she would win in all the categories she was nominated for. If you've not seen her live yet then go; she's truly amazing.

Other highlights saw Lily Allen pick up the award for Best British Female Solo Artist and a somewhat shocked Dizzee Rascal scooping the award for Best British Male Solo Artist.  Now, to say that we're excited for the Dizzee and Lily shows next month doesn't even come close.....

Awards for Best International artists went to Lady Gaga and Jay-Z who each performed on the night. Kasabian, having enjoyed the beers a bit too much, also recived the award for Best British Group.

The lovely Ellie Goulding picked up the Critics Choice Award which further backs up our earlier predictions for her success in 2010.

JLS unsurprisingly picked up a couple of awards including Best Breakthrough Act and set a million screaming girls hearts a-flutter with their performance of Beat Again, for which they won Best Single.

Most of today's online chatter complains that the The Brits have become too predictable but nevertheless, I bet half of the country was sat infront of their TV's at 8pm last night. Yes it might be a bit predictable but it does provide a night of great entertainment and recognises some amazing British talent, in particular Florence Welch and Ellie Goulding.

And Peter Kay's comments to Liam Gallagher and Lady Gaga 'Don't forget your brew love' were truly priceless....
