Up on the high street in Manchester last night far away from the paparazzi lights of Earls Court and that London place, The Courteeners played a small intimate NME Awards show at the great little Ruby Lounge venue. Was it a quiet affair? As if!
Well gone 10pm the band (following their beloved United winning in Milan) took to the concealed stage playing old and new tracks to a rowdy fanatical crowd, most of whom had queued up in sub-zero temperatures to get their coveted tickets. The new tracks are sounding fresh and enduring live and by the time they played the new single You overdid it doll, into the well known favourite Not 19 Forever then the foot stomping closer What Took You So Long, you couldn't have asked for a better response; the crowd were going mental. Upon leaving two girls were heard saying ‘probably the best gig ever!' Now that is some accolade. See it for yourself - remaining tickets for the tour are selling fast. Get them here!
You overdid it doll out now and available from Itunes. The Album Falcon is out next week.
And so who did overdo it at the brits?
Well Holy Moly
can advise you on that one as I couldn't possibly comment…. !
