Football, Festival Season and Facebook!

The flags are out, the beers are cold and the Vuvuzela seems to be the 'musical' choice of the moment.  Football fever has gripped even the non-believers and the mood is good.  Only yesterday were the folks of GigsAndTours Towers sitting out in the sunshine, watching the footy down in Castlefield and enjoying a Magnum or two (unfortunately not Champagne but rather the ice cream!).  This followed a night of Green Day entertainment on Wednesday (the guys are at Wembley on Saturday) and adds to the general excitement about Glasto next week. Life really is good.  Football, like music, brings people together, makes people happy (most of the time!) and gives us something to be passionate about.  So come on England!!

For those not heading off to Glastonbury, there's plenty of music to be enjoyed nearer to home with the likes of N*E*R*D, Scissor Sisters, Cherry Ghost, Kirsty Almeida, Hockey and Jamie T all playing gigs this week.  I for one will be heading off to Band On The Wall to catch Kirsty Almeida who's been tipped for big things this year.  Check out her track with Mr Scruff:

To add to the good mood we also gave away a truckload of prizes last week to celebrate reaching 10,000 Facebook Fans! In order to say thanks to all our lovely 'likers' we randomly picked 20 of our fans to win gig tickets. In addition five top prize winners all became Facebook 'Fan Of The Day' and won three pairs of tickets.  So as promised, here they are....

Congratulations Amy Parker, Kim Power, Jamie 'Duke' Worrall, Becki Fox and Karl Purdon!  Enjoy the Gigs guys!!

And because so many of you loved our Fan Of The Day feature we're rolling it out on a permanant basis!  So if you fancy the chance of being 'The Friday Fan' and winning a pair of gig tickets to boot, email competitions@sjmconcerts.com with your name and photo.
