Chicago native Mikey Rocks,
(aka Sir Michael Rocks) and Detroit native Evan ‘Chuck
Inglish’ Ingersoll are among the most notable Hip-Hop duo’s in recent years.
They both met back in 2005 in Chicago, after Mikey came across some of Chuck’s
beats and liked what he heard. Initially only releasing music via their Myspace
page, the duo soon found that their mixture of smooth production and lyrical
flows were getting some attention, becoming an underground sensation in
Chicago. They were soon noticed by Pitchfork who invited them to play at their
Summer Festival in Chicago.
This then led them to share a
showcase with DJ A-Trak at New York’s CJM Festival and an opening spot on MIA’s
solo tour. Following these performance’s they were listed in Rolling Stone’s
‘Ten Artists to watch in 2008’.
The
pair has collaborated with many notable artists and producers both as a duo and
as solo artists including Asher Roth, Mac Miller, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Yelawolf, Drake,
Kid Cudi, King Chip, Travis Barker, Ghostface Killah, The Neptunes, Maroon
5 and many others.
They
are now back with a bite and to their delight of their fans have announced that
their new album ‘Shark Week’ will be out later this year.
